i am no martha f. stewart

This is my very first vlog. My apologies in advance. But? I felt like there were some visual aspects that could not be properly described via writing. And true to the title, I am no Martha F. Stewart.

Well, not sure if you have gotten new curtains or not but they make these little circular things that fit on the rod with clips on them to attach to the curtains...just saying...call me first next time. HA

People who can make their own textiles make it look 'sew' easy... (lame joke)...

It's not the first time I've tried my hand at making something because
"how hard can it be?" ...

Yeah, turns out it's not as simple as it looks.. This is why we have cheap-ass shops where we can buy cheap-ass curtains..

:)

You could just buy a thinner curtain rod! But then it would require the whole installation crap. Good job on both the curtain (who cares if it is functional, isn't that the motto of fashion?) and the vlog.

Awesome vlog! You did a great job :D
My mom lives in Escondido and she knows how to sew. She even made bedroom curtains for me when I was a kid and I'm pretty sure they opened. However, for my mom to fix/make your curtains, you'd have to meet her, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Moving along...I think there are some good solutions up there for fixing your curtains. Good luck!

The curtain fits on the rod like a freaking condom... there is absolutely no sliding the fabric - it's fun having an inoperable WHITE curtain shading HALF my bathroom window, classy. Good news is the curtain is in an obscure part of the house, the master bathroom. So I'm only annoyed by it twice a day, it's the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see before going to bed... sweet.

You know who I would wish it on? My mom. Let's introduce the two of them.
09/08/10 16:43 PM
Wait! All you have to do is get another piece of white fabric that you can cut into a strip that is wider than the curtain rod, and sew it (on the outer edges of the strip!) on the back of your lovely curtains (at the top). You'll be able to slide the curtains onto the rod, and nobody will see how you did it from inside YOUR bathroom. (Who cares if the neighbors see it?)

Nice vlog, Stefanie! Anything curtain I would make would be "no sew," so respect on the sewing to begin with. How long are they? You could get one of those tie-backs for the side of the window, and then they could stay closed at the top?

Genius! See, I think opening and closing bathroom curtains can be overrated. I mean, what an unnecessary amount of steps. Just close 'em and be done with it. Your fancy unopenable curtains fix that problem.
Market them correctly, and you could have a money maker here...
