We all know that family dinners are important. It’s not the eating that makes the difference. It’s the talking. Use these questions to get your kids talking over dinner tonight.
1. What is one quality in yourself that you are most proud of?
2. What is something someone could say about you that would really hurt your feelings?
3. Do you care what other’s say or think about you? Why do you think it matters? Why don’t you?
4. How would you hope your friends would describe you?
5. Use one word to describe yourself and then everyone else at the table. (Each person does this.)
6. If you could do one really nice thing for yourself this week, what would it be?
7. Is there a quality or behavior of yours that you wish you could change? What is it? Why do you want to change it?
8. What is one nice thing you could do every day to make a difference for someone else? Why aren’t you doing it?
9. Have you ever been bullied? How did it make you feel? What did you do about it? Why did it stop?
10. Have you ever seen someone else being bullied or bullied someone? How did it make you feel? What do you wish you could say to the person being bullied?
