boys being boys

There is nothing more beautiful than boys in their element. No, not the bathroom. In nature. This photo montage puts a peaceful smile on my face.

I love driving over this wooden bridge with the windows down and listening to each board as it creaksfishing summer 2010

As soon as the car is in Park, the boys throw open the doors and start searching for bait. (Clams and worms.)fishing summer 2010

What day of fishing would be complete with out a bullfrog to serenade you?fishing summer 2010

Or a staring contest with a lizard?fishing summer 2010

The perfect bait is found.fishing summer 2010

The line is cast.fishing summer 2010

And this poor little fellow is caught. We tossed him back. Of course.fishing summer 2010

While the boys busied themselves with the tedious process of waiting for a fish, I spent my afternoon chasing this little guy around. Finally, after many many empty photos, I managed to get him in my frame. Look close. He's there.

Sadly. All good things must come to an end.fishing summer 2010

The laziest, happiest days of summer. Oh how I love you.

A special thanks to you Dad for making me love days like this more than maybe even a martini.

Stef, your photography is gorgeous. As are your boys. My kids would love doing something like this. Unfortunately it's not summer and there's no where near as stunning here. Enjoy the rest of summer!

Love the post, with all the pictures, I almost felt like I was right there with you! Probably wearing the wrong shoes, but I was there alright.

see...you're always environmentally correct - drunk and stumbling and probably puking behind some bushes, but environmentally aware

You have confused me. Which, yes, is easy to do. But I assume you mean you will only have boys, frogs and lizards?

How do I reply to your reply? I only have one boy, no snakes and no lizards. Shudder. I was attempting humor and failed miserably. :D

Actually it was a beer. I don't like to have glass in an area like this.
