I listen to the sound of a toddler screaming at me, the neighbors ridiculous leaf blower, the church under construction across the street, the sound of “can I have this and that”, the slamming of a door when I say “no”, the sound of complaining because homework has to be done, the nightly “when will dinner be ready”, the sounds of arguments over cell phones and television and video games and bedtimes and showers, the sound of my husband asking me to meet him in the bedroom or “where are my socks”. I typically reply to any “where are my” questions in this house with “up your butt”, but that is for a later day. I could list a hundred other noises that haunt my days, but I’m sure you get the drift. So I am asking for a little favor. Please oh please turn off the damn car alarm beeping horn crap that tells you that your car is indeed locked and safe.
You don’t even have to read the manual that came with the car, just call the dealership and make them tell you how to disengage it. You probably overpaid for the car anyway and it’s a great way to get a little back. I promise you that if that sound isn’t on, your car will still still be safe and if you listen closely, you can hear the peaceful sound of your car quietly locking, not disturbing the rest of us. Don’t think I haven’t noticed you people out there just waiting for me to walk by your car and then you push the button. I realize it is hysterical when I jump two feet off the ground, but please, have some pity. My ears hurt and my nerves are already on edge and you truly do not want me to find you. And lets be honest, no one is stealing cars anymore. The dealerships can’t even give them away.
