Last year, as a freshman, Keenan had absolutely ZERO desire for a social life. He was content to play Xbox, check other peoples’ social lives on Facebook, beat up on his brothers and hang with a few close friends that were content doing the same.
And I? Thanked my lucky stars. Every. Single. Day.
This year? *sighs*
He has found his social groove.
WHY DID YOU FORSAKE ME SO? *she screams to the heavens*
What the hell is my overly dramatic ass getting at you wonder?
Well. I will tell you. I am getting at (See this like in a horror film where the scene gets closer and closer and closer with every boom.)
*boom* *boom* *boom*
A CURFEW.
That is what my overly dramatic ass is getting at.
A mother freaking curfew. (Hear that in Chris Rock’s voice. If only because he is WAY funnier than I am.)
So I ask all of you parents of teens. How old is your teen and what is his curfew?
(Please say 8:30. I’m kidding. No I’m not. I sort of am.)

I don’t have teens yet. But from 16 on, my curfew was 1am, but I was only allowed to go out on Friday and Saturday nights. My friends all had 12:30am curfews. As a freshman…can’t remember. Want to say 12.
Haven’t had to go there yet, but I see it coming. I guess it would depend on the age and the circumstance. I don’t think I will have a clear-cut time for everything across the board. At least that is what I am thinking now, could change though.
I had a 10 o’clock curfew until I went to college. It was extended to 11:30 if we were going to have dinner and then see a movie that started after 8. Be strong Mama Ooph!
For me, it is specific to the event. Where are they going to be? Movies? Then one hour after movie ends. After prom party? 2 am was the latest I ever went because I had to pick them up to be sure no one under influence was driving. Case by case basis I guess.
But what you want to hear: um, 11 pm?!
I make my husband come home by 2am. Does that help?
Hasn’t really become an issue yet, but bedtime on weeknights is 10:30 – weekends are much more relaxed. Our county curfew for "under 17" is midnight. Even though he’s 17 now, I’d probably still want him home by midnight, but would consider making allowances for special situations.

Curfew? Mine are too young. Mine was 11. My senior year it went to 12. I was the earliest one in, too.
Don’t cities have curfews now? I know ours does.
We left you an award today over at the RHOK. Come on over and check it out!
Happy Friday!
I think it has to be specific the what they are doing.
to be sure no one under the influence was driving….this coming from mrs grey goose///love me some mac
the latest the 16 year old boy has ever been out is 10 30…but he likes being home…we’d let him stay out later if he was safe and we knew where he was and who he was with..
