When They Hang Up on You: Seek Revenge

Recently my teenagers have taken to hanging up on me when they don’t like my answers. A conversation might go like this:

Them: Hey mom, can I go to a party with a bunch of naked women and stay out until 1:00 in the morning?

Me: That would be a definitive, NO.

Them: But, all my friends are going. Why are you so overprotective?

Me: Because it is my…

Them: K. Bye. *click*

So? I have created this. A Spreadsheet:

Ooph Revenge Hang Up Chart

What does one do with this spreadsheet you ask? I’ll tell you. For every one time they hang up on me, I return the favor five times. Over the several days following a teenage hangup, they unsuspectingly call me and about 30 seconds into the conversation, I hang up on them.

They have no idea it’s on purpose.

Him: What’s wrong with your phone? Did you drop it or something?

Me: Nope. I don’t know why it keeps disconnecting you.

Him: It’s doing it all the time.

Me: And you know what’s so weird?

Him: What?

Me: It only happens when I am on the phone with you.

Him: *laughs* Maybe it hates me.

That? Is intelligent mom revenge.

  1. I love it but I don’t have teens yet so no hang-ups but I think I would tell them something like ” hmm it’s amazing how my phone likes to hang up on people who hang up on me” lol
