This very clever childrens' book answers the question you have been dying to know since you were a child. What the hell happened to my snowman over night? It looked so nice when I went to sleep and now? He has bags under his eyes, his nose is where his mouth was and half of his clothes are missing. Dude.
A snippet:
One wintry day I made a snowman,
very round and tall.
The next day when I saw him,
he was not the same at all!
His hat had slipped, his arms drooped down,
he really looked a fright-
it made me start to wonder:
What do snowmen do at night?
Now we know. Snowmen RAGE. That's what they do. Drinking cold toddies, making snow angels, playing baseball, skating and sledding too. It's quite a raucous and I am more than a little pissed I was never invited.
This book is written by Caralyn Buehner and illustrated by her husband Mark. The illustrations are so beautiful I want to cut out each page and frame it. AND. One more really great thing. Mark hid several creatures in his paintings. So on those nights when you have listened to the sound of your voice all day screaming at the kids to quit eating out of the trash and for the love of all that is good stop throwing the cat over the balcony and you simply can't fathom hearing one more nauseating second of yourself talking, you can do a 'seek and find' instead.
You're welcome.
